We will use cell-phones which have free long distance for almost all calls, but we want to be able to make long distance calls from home in an emergency too.
Can we use a calling card from home with no long distance service? Any other suggestions?
Thanks |

I assume you would not be able to recieve LD collect calls, but I would guess that isn't much of an issue.
Do keep track of how much money is on your calling cards and when they expire. I would suggest buying really low denominations which although more expensive per unit end up being cheaper in the long run . . . Obviously that isn't true if you use the cards a lot. |

I'm thinking of dropping long distance on my home phone too, since it costs us $5 just in taxes even if we make no calls. Free LD using my cell phone. |

Again I have no experience with it but it sure looks interesting. Anyone know more about it? |
