Living off the grid

Possum Living: How to Live Well without a job and with (almost) no money) is an interesting read . . . well skim is probably the more correct term. I certainly don't agree with all of what she has to say, but she has an interesting point of view. I've often wondered about "living off the grid" as it is sometimes called now, but it does lead to certain complications.

Anyway, thought some people might find the site interesting and since nobody is posting ANYTHING else . . . (Hint, hint)

Interesting. I do not agree with all of it after my skim (and it was written in 1978) but I have wondered about it.

Yeah, I think that it has gotten increasingly difficult to live off the grid. Particularly after 9/11, especially in the US.

We have a friend who does this in Marin County CA USA. He started off with a sizable amount of cash, he is a doctor. I know he uses solar energy and batteries. We hope to visit him and can give more details then.

I just came across another site - in the Survivalism topic - that is about living off the grid, or at least changing the grid you live on . . . Vanishing Point: How to Disappear in America without a Trace.
